Dr Emilie Cassell
Founder & Director
Chartered Psychologist, Surrey
I am a chartered psychologist with over 20 years experience of working with people with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties in the NHS and private sector. Until 2017 I held a senior post in the NHS working with young people with challenging behaviour and managing a team of therapists working in schools. In addition, for the past 5 years I have established a private practice in Surrey offering psychological support to children, young people, adults, couples and families as well as consultation and training to professionals. In February 2017, I set up the Surrey Psychology Practice with Dr Louise Oliver.

As a clinical psychologist I am trained to work with people of all ages and abilities and with a wide variety of issues using evidence-based techniques. In order to do this I draw on:
-
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
-
Systemic Family Therapy
-
Narrative Therapy
-
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
-
Psychodynamic Theory
-
Mindfulness
This allows me to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual or family depending on the nature of their issues, their preferences and what is proven to work scientifically and in my experience.
