Juliet Vyvyan
CBT and EMDR Therapist
I’m an experienced Psychotherapist who specialises in evidenced based therapies to help support clients with a range of mental health difficulties. I’m an accredited BABCP Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (CBT) with additional training and experience in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have a background in working in clinical research including projects at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, which focused on helping people manage health conditions better.
I completed my post graduate training in CBT at the Royal Holloway University of London in 2012. I have worked as a psychotherapist in NHS, Charity and the private sector and have extensive experience of working with clients with a range of anxiety and depression disorders including depression, postnatal depression, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, work stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, specific phobias, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, as well as long term health conditions and pain management. I completed Parts 1, 2 and 3 EMDR training between 2020 and 2022 at Richman EMDR training centre, London. EMDR is a structured psychotherapy which helps individuals process and resolve emotional distress associated with traumatic memories and other distressing experiences. It is particularly helpful for treating PTSD but can also be helpful for other conditions such as depression, anxiety and phobias.

I am passionate about my work and the results it can achieve. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship including empathy, warmth and trust is paramount in the therapeutic process and my therapeutic approach centres on this. I work with adult individuals collaboratively, to help them achieve their goals by helping them to explore and understand difficulties in a safe and non-judgemental space, introducing evidence-based techniques to help manage and overcome challenges, find healthier ways of coping and achieve positive and lasting change.
